Maximum renting period is 11 months after which a fresh contract is made . Minimum 5-6 months contract can also be made by slight increase in rent .

I don't think there is any time bound for renting a property,it will depend on the agreement between tenent and owner.In metro cities,i think rules are diffrent.

Commercial Property goes for lease from 1 year to 5 years where as Residential property its goes for 1 years .

The minimum period to rent a residential property is 11 months and for commercial, if it is small space such as 250 or 300 sq.feet than it might be 11 months or for any company it is for 3 years.
